Awesome work Ylmir :) Kind of gives me a little Metal Gear Solid vibe at some parts (especially that bass!) This would go very well for a menu.

Ylmir responds:

Thanks a lot ! \o/

Nice work Lone-X! your song reminds me of some of the music from Silent Hill.
Keep it up :)

Lone-X responds:

Thanks, Mattashi, I gotta listen to the soundtracks of those games. I haven't played a single one lol. Glad you like the song!

Peace and love,
Lone X

Lucid, I could listen to your piano playing all day :)
Very beautiful played man.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Aww, thanks a lot man :')
You know I could listen for your work for an etenrity (your guitar playing is sooo good too)!

Oh man this is fantastic! It reminds me of those good old skate punk bands back in the day.
I'm a huge Punk-Rock fan and this was really amazing dude.
Did you play and record all the instruments yourself?

Jabun responds:

Cheers man :3 Indeed I did, though I must confess the drums are samples I hand programmed rather than a live kit :3 I had some help from friends with the Gang type vocals too and the guitar on Track 4 "Woof Woof, Nag Nag" was played by Andy Forman (guitarist from another band I was in: Lights, Camera, Attraction!) as he really wanted to help with the record :3 I'm actually writing a 9 track follow-up Album as we speak so hopefully that'll be out by the end of the year :3 Really glad you enjoyed it :D

really cool stuff man, great demo reel!

This sounds sweet! You don't suck at making full tracks just give it a try, you can add anything you want to it, it's your song! I used to have the same problem, always ending up with making short tracks. Most of the time I felt like I couldn't add anything that would make the song better, but if you experiment and fool around a bit I'm sure you'll get something more going. Maybe add some sort of intro before this part kicks in and have a different chord progression at the end.
You've got an awesome start so far!

Damn awesome!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thank you, sir. \m/

Nice work man! great song structure and I like the mix, only thing I would do is make the snare a bit louder it sounds a bit low compared to the bass drum.
Sucks that your PC kept crashing, what DAW are you using? is it a 32- or 64-bit host?
Switching to 64-bit really helped me out a lot with my RAM issues.

DL2Electron responds:

Thanks. Yeah the snare and drums in general were supposed to be a bit quiet and in the background mainly because they were too MIDI sounding.. I extensively use 64bit, have been since FL 11 came out. But once I roll with some heavy sample libraries, I get so many underruns either because either something is wrong with my computer or my inbuilt sound card is pathetic. :/

Nice melody man :)

Lone-X responds:

Thanks, Mattashi! This means a lot!

Peace and love,
Lone X

Wow this is amazing for your first attempt at orchestra! My favorite part was at 01:25 :)
EWQL is pretty awesome, isn't it? Even though some might say it's a bit "outdated" I still like to use it in my projects as well. I really can't wait what masterpieces you will compose next now that you have an orchestra at your fingertips :P
Try not to add too much reverb on EWQL Symphonic Orchestra most of the samples already sound pretty wet (I usually like to add just a slight bit of extra reverb, usually about 20%)
as for panning most of EWQL Symphonic Orchestra is already pre-panned in a way but it's never wrong to make adjustments :)
Also don't be afraid to raise the levels a bit more with the percussion.
Can't wait what more you have in store for us with your new library :)
Nice work man!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Hello! And thanks a lot for all the great tips! *takes notes*

Yeah, 1:25 is pretty cool. I tried to do it a bit different from the rest of the song :3
EWQL is very awesome, especially to me, as it's my first actual bought VST, which means it opened a lot of new possibilities!

I agree. I'll try cutting down on the reverb for next time! And I'll make sure to get my panning straight ;)

Percussion volume is to be raised => Noted.

Thanks a lot for leaving a helpful review, and for being great inspiration :D
