Nice little fanfare :D
The quality of the instruments don't really matter much because I really like the structure and the melody of it which for me is always way more important than the samples being used.
Sounds like something coming straight out of an old snes game :)
Good job!

Thanks a lot for the encouraging words :)!
I definitely agree. I always look much more at the structure and melody of a song, than I look at other things, when I rate it.
I also tend to focus much more on the composition itself when I make songs. I'm trying to get better at mixing and such too, but I really don't have any time at all at the moment :(

Awesome work Chris! Your composition reminded me of some of Danny Elfman's work.
Only thing I would do is work on the loop a little, it doesn't need much maybe a short fade in at the intro?
Would love to hear your music in that game, when do you think it'll be finished?

SoundChris responds:

Hey Mattashi!

You were right, the influence in the choir passage was danny elfman. I always loved how he used the childrens choir in sincere contexts. I also wanted to finally trst 8Dio´s Liberis which i have purchased when it was 50% of a few weeks ago. The piece originally had a fade in, but when it looped there was always this fade in while the track should still feel consisting. So the game developer will create this fade in so it will occur only the first time the track starts. I also thought if i should make a song version... we will see.

The game "The Sorcerer´s Path" will be released for ios and pc. We are working on the demo right now and everybody is doing a great job. Its really a pleasure to work for this enthusiastic team :D
Thanks a lot for leaving your thoughts here. Glad you liked the piece :D

All the best!

Great melodies! Fun to listen to.
Only thing is I think the piano could be a little bit louder but this is just me nitpicking.
I enjoyed this, great work :)

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

Glad you like it.

Oh man I love Ennio Morricone and I love this! sort of reminded me of Kill Bill since there were a few tracks from Morricone in there.
Can't believe everything was recorded did you play the instruments yourself as well?
Only thing I would do is maybe make the snare a tad bit louder.
Great work!

Basset-Hound responds:

Hey Thanks! This track was definitely inspired by a few tracks that were also in Kill Bill like
L´Arena, Un Momento and Theme from a fistfull of Dollars. I did record every instrument myself, normally I´d record some real violins and cello´s over the fake strings that come out of my keyboard but this time I was too lazy to do it that day since playing those instrument pitch perfect is for me the hardest part of recording everything.

Yay! a new song from Emid :D. Really love this track man! Especially when those percussions came in sounds like I'm in the middle of a jungle. I don't think I have heard a worldly song from you before and you nailed it perfectly. Awesome work :)

Emid responds:

Thanks Matt. Yes this is my first song in this genre but as it is more like cinematic, I have selected the cinematic genre for it. I had great fun doing it. Glad you liked it :)

This is great MrBellington! It does give out a creepy vibe indeed. Somehow I picture myself playing Resident Evil to this. Nice work, perfect horror/thriller game music :)

MrBellington responds:

Well thank you very much! I can't remember what made me sit down and write this. I think it was me just seeing how much mileage I could get out of a pretty cheap reverse steel drum effect!

There seems to be allot of highs in this track I think you should boost the lower frequencies a bit, or it could be the VST you used for this.
But that aside this is a beautiful! Really love the melody that starts at 1:33 sounds like a classical song!
Nice work :)

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

There are quite a bit of highs in this track for sure. Now that you say it, you're probably right. I'll make sure to EQ this piano sample later; thanks for the tip!
I'm glad you like the melody :D!
Thanks a ton for the review! XD

I've heard some of this before and it's still as good as then :) I'm a bit sad you took out that darker part you had in it before though I really loved the change of mood you did to it, what made you change your mind?
It's still an awesome track though.
Looking forward for more!

Emid responds:

Don't ask man, I had a system shut down before saving and just before that I was editing new parts. Because of system freeze I had no choice other than to shut it down. I lost those parts you are talking about as well as other. Loosing your tiresome work just breaks you! Thanks Matt for your advices though.

Niceeeeee :) would be awesome to hear some vocals along with this.

Xorberax responds:

Agreed, I actually just bought a mic yesterday (Sennheiser e835), but I can't provide any decent sounding vocals :P

I was hoping one of the fellow NG'ers could work with this.

Thanks :)

Very nice work SoundChris,
I like how you added those scratches to make it sound like an old vinyl record is playing.
Sounds a bit like saloon music too! Hope your dad was happy with this, I'm pretty sure he was :)

SoundChris responds:

Thank you very much Mattashi for your kind words! This melody also reminded me a lot of a western saloon scene when i was a kid :) I Think my dad was quite happy - he hasnt heared this song since ... dont know ... 15 - 20 years now - same as me :D

So thanks for leaving your thoughts here and all the best to you!
