This is awesome! I love those flutes they sounds like they're imitating a locomotive :)
I get a kind of beetlejuice vibe from hearing this especially the section at 01:36
Very nice composition!

Azhthar responds:

Thanks a lot! The Beetlejuice soundtrack was actually a bit of inspiration for this, especially in the section you mean ;) Always wanted to make such a polka like stuff with these offbeat brass chords :)

Jesus christ, don't play this track when your all alone home at night xD
I really love the build up those synths make it sound like your inside a spaceship headed for destruction. Nice work!

Phonometrologist responds:

Glad you like and it really does sound like you're in a spaceship. I have to catch up to see what you been up to... Looking forward to hearing more stuff from ya

Awesome work Phyrnna :) my favorite part starts at 01:37, I love that octave shifting synth!
This song sounds dark and uplifting at the same time.
Good job :D

Phyrnna responds:

Yah that synth I made for this song and it's become one of my favorites to use.
As for the dark feeling, it's because of the chord progression I used. ;D
I'm glad you like it~!

This is awesome! It's so catchy and relaxing, love the part where the bass and marimba? kicked in :)
Great work :D

VideoGameManiac responds:

Yes marimba! x)

Thanks, glad you like it!

Whoa this is so sweet LSD! I'm so glad you got to write some tracks for that game. I think your music adds so much more depth to the game. Nice work on the looping too! I barely noticed it had repeated 3 times already before I found out xD
I loved the Euneirophrenia song as well :)
I hope to play some more games in the future with your music!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks a million, Mattashi! I love reading your extremely positive reviews :D
I'm super glad to hear that you think the track fits the game :3
I think that Chaz made a pretty good decision, considering the genre of the game, and my love for ambient music XD

It's great to hear that you liked the short piano piece too! It could be mixed differently with a different instrument, but I ended up kinda liking the way it sounds.

There is a small click after the loop, but I figured it doesn't really matter.
Thank you for the review!!!

EDIT: Whoah! I didn't realize you beat the entire game, and got all the secrets too! Great job, seems you are a pretty good gamer :p

Whoa... how did I miss this one? What a beautiful song. I've always admired your solo pieces, it's like all you need is just one instrument to tell a story and write something amazing.
Sounds a little like Nobuo Uematsu, would fit perfect in a Final Fantasy game!
I've listened all the way through :3 The main melody does repeat often but you keep adding something new to make it interesting throughout the song.
Nice work as always LSD :)

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Whoah! I didn't expect a sudden review on an older track from you, hahha XD
Thanks a lot!

To this date, this is still one of my best improvisations. Even if the first minute or so was planned to some extent (if I recall correctly). It's definitely heavily Final Fantasy inspired. Especially from one certain theme in FF7 :3
It's a shame that the quality is not as great as it could be (some extra noise in there).

It's not as difficult as people think to write something for just a lolo instrument. In fact, I think it's much easier than to write a track for an entire orchestra :D
And I've heard you play the guitar wonderfully. I'm sure that that's all you'd need to make a brilliant track :3

And thank you for listening all the way through despite the length! I haven't uploaded that much lately, but I have about 5 tracks that I am waiting to upload (for different reasons). So pretty soon, one can expect some pretty rad stuff. 3 of the tracks are solo piano pieces too, and one might be the best piano solo I've written so far :D

It's a shame that you're not in the NGADM this year, but you're probably busy :(
Thanks again for listening and reviewing!

Dude, that was awesome! your style reminds me of some of my favorite 80s metal bands.
Sweet riffs, awesome vocals and the mixing is great!
Very nice work man :)

MetalRenard responds:

Woo, that is what I was going for - a parodie of 80s/90s rock with cheesy lyrics and over the top everything.
I kind of rushed the mixing on this one since I hadn't made a song in so long, I might touch it up a bit at a later date. ^_^

Thanks for taking the time to comment, it means a lot!

Man I dunno why I missed this one, it sounds like something straight out of a Mario game. Love that tropical vibe, very awesome!
You did a great job keeping the song interesting too, nothing sounds repetitive, the bass doesn't bother me too much but maybe it's because I'm hearing the updated version?
Anyway great catchy tune and good luck with the NIM! :)

ToxicGeek responds:

Thank you and good luck to you too! =D
The original bass didn't fit that well with the rythm. You can say that your ears are saved from that awful mistake. =P

Beautiful work, did you record yourself live playing piano for this? I can hear little cracks and squeaks that are often left out in sampled instruments which I hate, it takes the realism a bit away. This works very well for what you described in the author comments. I haven't played the Last Of Us yet and I really want to (wish they did a PC release), So I looked up that video you mentioned with the giraffes, I think your track would fit perfectly in there! Very nice ambient piece,
another great composition from you :)
I'm pretty sure this will land somewhere in the top 3!

Phonometrologist responds:

Yes I did. The piano part is what came about first. Those cracks and squeaks is very much me when the hammer hits the strings, the sustain pedal hitting the wood, and from me moving on the piano bench... just improvising without anyone around to listen or disturb the trance that I was in. It was a quiet recording so the sounds on wood is a bit more noticeable.
Thank you for your sentiments

I was getting worried you weren't going to enter, I'm so glad you did! :)
My favorite part was where the staccato/slaps came in, I loved that! The mixing is awesome as well.
My only criticism would be the length of the song, really wish it was a bit longer because it's great.
Awesome work :D

Phonometrologist responds:

Yeah I was getting worried as well since I almost didn't make it. Glad you enjoyed as this was very fun to create. I think the part that you enjoyed the most is what makes this piece worthwhile to write. And that would be a valid criticism. This piece was primarily conceived because it serves as a prelude for another track that I probably won't be able to work on for another several months. The whole piano part is done, but I just would need to arrange/orchestrate the parts.
